The idea of Tulum kinda fell in our laps fortuitously–a place where we could go, be, explore & surround ourselves with good energy & high vibrations… it was one of the most transformative places we’ve had the chance to experience!
From the deep-rooted healing treatments, to the peaceful, clean beaches, to the high vibrations of the jungle, to the smell of palo santo and copal everywhere, we felt super present & taken in with the magic of Tulum.
But the best part…there is such incredible and contagious energy in Tulum!! Which many believe originated 66 million years ago when an astroid struck Tulum hence the nickname ‘Where the light began’. Agreed!! Here’s a little recap of some recs if you ever find yourself in this city!
Sanara Tulum: We loved this California meets Mexico meets Wellness resort. Chic and minimal decor, it’s an eco-boutique hotel with a world class wellness center, beach yoga and the infamous “The Real Coconut” restaurant that’s serves every dish free of grain, gluten and dairy. Not pretentious (our speed!) but thoughtful and well-done in every way. Nice for couples and families, we really enjoyed our stay here.
Encantada: Although we didn’t get to walk through this one, it looks beautiful and have heard great reviews, the selling point being a really private resort with only 8 rooms!
Be Tulum: Raw and rustic elements, great hotel for groups of people traveling together. Hip, lively and energetic with gorgeous stone pools all around. Dave loved the shrimp tacos ha!
Nomade: A wellness centered hotel with minimal, rustic and middle eastern decor, definitely worth visiting for it’s beautiful aesthetic, intense metaphysical energy and wind chime installation. Has a unique boutique too with a really interesting perspective!
The Real Coconut: Sanara’s restaurant, a quintessentially cool beach-front eatery. We spent a lot of time here because everything was healthy and delicious. All dishes are free of grain, gluten, dairy, refined sugar, corn and soy. With so many good options!
Posada Margherita: A cute and charming spot, it’s like dining in a Mexican garden while eating Italian yippee!
Arca: Farm to table style restaurant with a focus on Yucatan ingredients & incredible energy, it was our fav spot!
Hartwood: Hartwood is one of the best and well known restaurants. We learned you have to book your reservation two months in advance, or you can try dropping in at 5:30pm or 9pm.
Casa Jaguar: Enjoy the Mexican jungle by dinning here and try some of the delicious cocktails!
Sanara’s Palo Santo Treatment: A special treatment only at the Sanara–it was hands down one of the best experiences I’ve had. You’re just going to have to go to learn more!!!!
Yaan Wellness: An unexpected surprise we discovered while riding bikes. From the organic design–to the healing water pools–to the rooftop medicinal herb garden, and of course wellness services, it was a beautiful experience for the body and soul. We ended our experience with hot tea from the herb garden…dang I wish I could remember the recipe!
Bikes: Most resorts have bikes you can rent, a fun way to get to see other resorts, restaurants or casually cruise the area.
Mayan Ruins: This was a Dave pick, with great ocean views!
Mayan Birth Chart Reading: It’s legit. I think there are a couple spots where you can find this!! The Sanara offers this, which is where I went!
Sound Gong Bath: Bathed in sound waves by musical instruments in combination of the energy of the ocean, man could we feel such intense energy!!
Shopping: Keep a look at for pure copal, it’s sooo good & authentic!
